"For those feeling painting is just too challenging and feel, or have been told, you just don't have that "natural ability", try thinking of it as a fun challenge - also using the process of elimination.  Like many such skills, learning what not to do actually teaches us more than anything.  Those mistakes are valuable and your skills only improve the more you make.  But, only if you persist, and do not let them discourage you.  Ask Thomas Edison, known for a few life-changing discoveries, and not his thousands of failures.  Much like a dedicated scientist or inventor, painters are actually most successful when teetering on the edge of failure.  Only when one is pushing their personal limits, diving into unfamiliar, "uncomfortable" territory, are we truly painting at our full potential.  A painter will never achieve greatness playing it safe."
